The buzz these days is that former Google engineers released a new search engine, dubbed Cuil. Apparently it should be read as Cool, but I wouldn't be so sure if that's what I'll say it.
The system is a little bit different. It's not like Google. Is semnatic, trying to understand how words are related and what do they mean. These guys managed to secured a total $33M in financing (two roudns) and are promising to take on Google. If anyone wants my opinion ... they will fail.
