
Sony is all set to launch its new HD camcorder, the HDR-CX 12 model, next month (July). It does 1,920 x 1,080 resolution AVCHD video thanks to a 10 megapixel ClearVid 1/3.13-inch CMOS sensor, BIONZ image processing and the image stabilized Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 12 optical zoon lens.
Main specs are:
- 1920x1080i in AVCHD (Mpeg4 AVC/H.264, 16Mbps)
- HDV support (1440x1080i) in 5/7/9Mbps
- HDMI output
Though the camera doesn't include HDD, it will be sold with an 8GB memory stick.
Sony proudly announced that this is the worlds smallest HD camera with the size of a soda can (69x67x129mm) and with a total weight of 420 grams.
