
Hitachi Maxell partnered with Nagasaki University, NIAIST, and Fuji Heavy Industries to create a new type of lithium-ion battery that should be able to store 20 times more power than the batteries we use nowadays, which should be cheap and easily mass produced. It's not a common Li-ion battery recipe because it doesn't include cobalt anymore, but nano-infused lithium with manganese.
