Even though we heard here and there about the tech details of the new MSI Wind, we had no release date. June 3 is the big day when we’ll get to see this Atom-based ultraportable, live.
There will be two versions that will be sold worldwide. First one is a 8 .9-inch and a 10-inch version but only the later version will be available in the US. Both wil come bundled with Linux and Windows XP, your choice.
The SuSE version will feature the 1.6GHz Atom processor, 512MB of RAM, 80GB hard drive, and a 3-cell battery rated at 2.5 hours of use. The price for it starts at $399.
MASI Wind running XP will start from $549, has 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth, and a larger 6-cell battery good for 5.5 hours. There is a rumor that there will also be a $500 "base" XP edition but we know nothing (for sure) at the moment.
