Entry-level CPUs for Centrino 2, Intel Says

intel-logo.gifIntel is going to launch a set of entry-level processors that will be used to build more "affordable" notebooks. There will be two 65nm Merom-based processors for its Centrino 2 platform (Montevina) of which one is Celeron 585 at 2.16GHz and Celeron 575 at 2GHz. Both units will support 667MHz Front Side Bus (FSB), will feature 1MB of L2 cache and will have a TDP of 31W.

The prices for thousand-unit tray quantities are $107 for Celeron 585 and $86 for Celeron 575.
