As it was presented I can tell it sounds like a perfect laptop. However the new MacBook Air may not be that perfect and I think the good and the bad points should be highlighted.
The first thing that pops into my mind is the iPod like concept. Apparently the RAM memory, the hard drive and the battery are sealed and you cannot change them on yourself. When anything happens you need to get Apple assistance or at least this is what the guys have said after the keynote. With an non-replaceable battery this is a massive downside. I wouldn't want to have my laptop sent to them with all the info have.
Another minus is the Apple studio reflective display. Why reflective guys? And the last one I can think of right now is the fact that it's not very upgradeable and you may get stuck with the options you choose when you buy.
No optical device (you need to buy one for $99) and the
MacBook Air pluses
Not sure if anyone wants to hear them after we've just heard the bad stuff, but here they are:
- superb/neat/clever/sexy (add more) design
- a 13.3-inch LED backlit display
- thin : 0.76 - 0.16-inches (really fits inside an envelope)
- weight 3 lbs
- 5 hours battery life
- Core 2 Duo processors : 1.6GHz on the base model and 1.8GHz (optional)
- multi touch trackpad
- backlit full-size keyboard
- usb bus-powered external disc drive is great
- 64GB SSD option (but has a minus:
$1300$999 price)

Later edit: the 64GB SSD won't cost you $1,300, only $999. The whole upgrade which includes the 1.8GHz processor and the SSD however is going to cost you $1,300.
