We all know how Samsung like to be the world's first, biggest, cheapest, smallest or thinnest when they launch their products, but this 31-inch OLED display is really something to take your hat off. OLED displays (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) won't go mainstream right away but it looks like Samsung feels the market will be big in the near future, and is developing, like Sony, more and more prototypes.
- 4.3mm thick (that's like 0.17-inch)
- brighter images with less power consumption (only half of normal LCDs)
- active-matrix organic light-emitting diode technology (AM-OLED)
I don't know what the price will be or when Samsung will consider mass production but it's sure going to be a success.
