
Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) announced today that the buisness software maker, Bea Systems (NASDAQ:BEA) agreed to be aquired for a total of $8.5 billion which translates in $19.375 per share. This is a big 14% bigger offer than the one, Oracle made last year in October, of $17 per share that was declined as being too low.
It looks like the Germans from SAP have lost the race, because they seemed interested, too. BEA Systems is involved in transaction processing, billing, customer service, provisioning an securities trading so it’s obvious why the big interest.
