Toshiba announced today three new SSD drives that will come with 32GB, 64GB and 128GB that will start shipping from March 2008. With better seek times because there's no mechanical part like the classic hard drives we knew, and with less power consumption (same reason) the new SSD drives are great.
The features of the SSD are:
- read speeds up to 100MBps
- write speeds up to 40MBps
- SATA2 interface
- 1,000,000 working hours (that's about 114 years)
The SSD drives come in three models, embedded module, 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch and we don't have a price for them yet.
