It sure didn't take long for Apple to sell 100 million iPods that Creative, the first company to offer a portable media MP3 player in 2000 - the Nomad Jukebox - is running behind Apple with 25 million units sold. Remember that though it was released in 2001, one year later, the iPod is still ruling in all competitions.
If we were to make any comparison charts with results Sony's, Panasonic's or Samsung's results (you can even sum all of them up) in that industry so far it looks like Creative is on a pretty good place in the top.
Creative's CEO Sim Wong Hoo said:
Shipment of 25 million MP3 players marks a major milestone in Creative history, as our player unit volume exceeds the combined unit sales from some of the biggest names in consumer electronics. We believe that we now have our strongest lineup of MP3 and portable media players ever, as we continue to innovate with our recently introduced ZEN Stone, ZEN Stone Plus, and the credit card-sized ZEN.
I wish them like because they've been pioneers in the industry and we could sure use some of their products in the future. Go Go Creative!
