It was time for the Chinese to consider bringing the iPhone to their country after seeing what a big success it's going to be worldwide. Named the invention of the year by TimeMagazine it looks like the success is not even at peak levels with more and more new markets sniffing on it.
After China Mobile - 350M subscribers - announced they would be interested in selling the iPhone it was now time for China Unicom - 156M users - to make a move. Both companies are willing to discuss with Apple a "good business", and if the results (read it "profits for the Chinese) are satisfactory we may see those guys using an iPhone very soon.
Apparently the companies are not interested in a revenue-share agreement so I guess we'll hear more about that subject soon.
