Canon EOS 40D SLR camera owners probably know of the file format compatibility problems with raw-image editing software from Adobe, and so does the Japanese manufacturer. Apparently they first adressed the issue with 1.0.3 firmware that fixed Photoshop and Lightroom but when they released the 1.0.4 update, compatibility was lost again.
This is why the EOS 40D 1.0.5 firmware update was released, with additional language fixes for Spanish and Korean menus and a correction for printing. Here is the original list from Canon:
- When playing back images just after recovering from Auto Power Off, the display now shows the last image played back.
- During remote shooting, images are now displayed on the camera's LCD monitor right after they are taken.
- Corrects a warning message in Korean that appears when updating the firmware.
- Corrects errors in the Spanish menu screens.
- Corrects a phenomenon that prevented printing with some print systems.
- Corrects a rare phenomenon in which file numbers or image numbers were sometimes skipped.
