Apple Wants the Whole Hand Multi-Touch Patent

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) filed a patent request for their multi-touch technology. We've seen it first on the iPhone and then on the iPod so I guess Steve Jobs is cooking something because what is it they're working on will allow users to use different parts or the whole hand on the surface and will open up wide the gate to new products like touchscreen keyboards, trackpads and much more other.

With that technology a computer would be able to do more tasks at a same time and more than just the dragging we've seen so far.

Apple's application includes a sensor arrangement to identify when the palm is on the surface and which part of the hand is, and a touch sensing conductor that can tell if you are just resting your fingers or you're typing. It sound's very interesting so I guess we should wait and see it in action to tell.
