
I guess if you're a technology fan you know already that the UK is filled with surveillance cameras that record and take photographies of everything that moves or not. It looks like the Canadians from Toronto want that system, too, but a little bit different because they will supervise every face that uses public transportation.
12,000 cameras will take the pictures of 1.5 million people that hop on a bus, streetcar, subway train or wait in stations, and will use them with the Police as a "crime-busting tool". This project is valued at $18 million and one third will be paid by the Federal Government should start in June 2008.
