I know a lot of people that bought a tablet PC just because it was cool to have one, but surprise, they don't have any use for it anymore, not even bragging. However, smart guys from Philips found a really useful destination for tablet PCs and that's medicine.
They've developed a new device suited for hospitals, Philips Cliniscape, which was designed by Intel's Digital Health Group to feature a 10.4-inch XGA display with 250:1 contrast ratios, an Intel Core Solo processor at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM inside, a 60GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n wireless and Bluetooth. The medical tablet PC also features a 2 megapixel camera, is able to read bar codes and only weighs 1.6kg.
Cliniscape, the medical tablet PC, can be wiped clean to reduce infection spreading, is 1 meter drop proof and should be a good friend for a nurse or a doctor that will make the right decision after he sees all the information about their patients.
