In May 2007, GPSLodge announced that JVC will quit the GPS market, and the real reasons were their - expensive - products didn't sell too good with competition from Garmin or TomTom. I didn't believe it then and they confirmed it for me with the new release of two new PND GPS navigators, JVC KV-PX701 and KV-PX501.
Both of them make use of a Samsung 400MHz processor and tell where to turn by utilizing NAVTEQ maps.
JVC KV-PX701 (pictured) sports a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, RDS-TMC capability, the long praysed SiRFstarIII GPS chipset and will sell for €399 ($565).
JVC KV-PX501, is a little different, with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, the RDS-TMC module integrated in the car mount and uses Media Tec GPS receiver. You can buy it for €349 ($495).
Will JVC whine again about leaving the PND navigators market, because to be honest they are the only people to blame if their products are not price worthy.
