LG VX10000 Voyager to Diminish iPhone Sales?

A few days ago I mentioned the autumn party Verizon will have in a few weeks with the four grand dukes, Juke, Pearl, Venus and Voyager and today I'm bringing more info on LG Voyager or LG VX10000. From what I see in the picture this is a "design upgrade" for the iPhone and I must say they could divert some funds from AT&T. I personally like it very much and I think there will be some damage.

Here are a few detailed specs for the new LG Voyager that's about to come. It sports a full touchscreen display and a second screen on the interior, microSD slot and 2 megapixel camera, QWERTY keyboard and V CAST Mobile TV, which is real TV directly on your mobile phone. The only thing I can expect right now is the price and a release date because I know the first to come are Juke and Pearl, then Venus and the last one, Voyager.

Its the beginning of a rash of iphone copys just in time for the holidays. Like the Zune it will probably fail. Four months too late. V cast TV only has four channels to watch anyway..

" I think there will be some damage" This guy who wrote the article must work for Verizon

I can assure you I won't, but I just gave you guys my opinion. I am not saying that's going to happen and I respect anyone saying different :)

Again, I'm not working for Verizon :)

most people are unaware that apple approached verizon with the iphone first and was turned down. They are also unaware that the iphone does not allow fast speeds or corporate emails you also have to go on the net to view pix messages unlike any verizon phone you are not restricted in this way. and there are more than four channels to be viewed on vcast tv it comes with tivo capabilities as well. i don't think the voyager will tople the iphone but it will be a great phone for those who expec the phone to do what is advertised

listen, i have been with verizon for many years, and which verizon person hasnt been tempted by the perks of other companies and other phones. honeslty, it was wrong for verizon to state that ;the voyager will kill the iphone". a more apprepriate title should of be "new competition for iphone is going to be the voyager". i say this because wat is verizon fails at "defeating" the iphone, then everyone is gunna think verizon cried wolf for a while. so why not just say competition. they are both magnificent devices and are by TWO DIFFERNENT carriers, therefore they have different criteria and setups.

I honestly can't wait for the Voyager. I am one of those people that was seriously consider ditching Verizon for the iPhone...but now I will just wait and purchase the Voyager.

LG Rules

Good thing I just happen to get an email alert advertising the Voyager. Was looking into the iPhone but not anymore. Was considering leaving Verizon to buy the iPhone. Think I`ll be happier with the Voyager.

I'm not an Apple person at all. I only have a iPod from them.

But, I just returned the Voyager and ordered and iPhone. The Voyager, in my opinion, is not very intuitive at all. I took me 9 clicks to get to my email, iPhone, only 2 (unless you password protect your phone). In the Detroit area, their network was not any faster at receiving anything compared to my friends iPhone. In fact, the iPhone was actually faster. Plus the web browser was horrid on the Voyager, and I never did get the hang of scrolling on that thing.

I don't need to receive corporate emails, just my personal email. The Vcast TV is a cool option, but really, how much am I going to watch that TV as opposed to my a larger one. I usually just have my iPod with me and listen to music, and it's even easier now that I have some of that music on my iPhone.
I live in a county that is all wireless, and on a daily basis, I'm usually in the county so the iPhone should pick up the wireless network. And more and more places have networks now so I'm confused why this is being pointed out as such a problem.

For me, the iPhone does exactly what I want, without having to think about it. Intuitive interface, personal email, ability to surf the net and see the whole page at once, and upload some of my iTunes stuff.

Voyager isn't that great of a phone, it is just a enV with a toutch screan and some more features.. But I know ALOT of people don't like the iPhone but it's really an AMAZING phone you NEED to have one before you judge it.

As a cell phone the Voyager VX-1000 is a huge failure. To make a simple phone call you have to access the phone icon… no biggie, but then when you dial a number your keypad display disappears and your phone asks for you to unlock it. So you have to unlock it and then hit the phone icon again to launch the dialer interface. So say if you call into Verizon for tech support, you have 4 touch screen clicks just to be able to enter the 5 layers of numbers for tech support..2…5…4…etc…etc..while driving..very dangerous. Plus the touch screen is un-responsive. After entering 3 digits it tends to hang, and then puts out all the cached digits you’ve entered in frustration. You can not drive when using this beast, it’s not safe. This is clearly a premature release in a faint attempt to match the iPhone. The Voyager doesn’t come close from a usability standpoint. If you like all the other BS things this “phone” does, then go or it, as long as you’re willing to pay the high monthly fees for all the goodies. But beware its internet browser display is about 10% the quality of the iPhone/iPod Touch and you have to pay extra for their very nice 3rd party e-mail client app. And no WiFi. And don’t ever expect to look at your exchange/outlook e-mail over this pig browser. I just wanted a decent phone and I liked the QWERTY keyboard for checking e-mail on the road and I thought this was “IT”, but as a phone, this “lock feature” is a deal-breaker.
