
The need for speed storage is bigger and bigger, not for small users like me, but for businesses and companies that need to store lots and lots of data. Hitachi, and others of course, identified this need and supply the market with what is asked.
Today Hitachi announced they are working on a new hard disk technology that will built recording heads that are two times smaller than what we have so far, which can read greater densities of data stored on the disk, and allows in four years to develop the 4TB hard drive (3.5-inch) for desktop computers and the 1TB drive for laptop (2.5-inch).
Hitachi didn't say anything about a price but let's assume it's going to be pretty big because it will be top-notch technology: 2000 times smaller than the human hair.
