If you ever thought that laptops are expensive you are wrong. There are models that will cost more than two or three desktop computers but that's not the general trend. Today I saw a flier for Best Buy that was trying to sell a laptop, Gateway ML6230, for only $300. It's supposedly advertised in the newspapers.

I'm talking about a laptop with a 15.4-inch Ultrabright widescreen, a 1.6GHz Intel Celeron M 520 inside, working on Windows Vista Home Basic. The Gateway ML6230 featured on the flier, has 80GB hdd, 512 MB DDR2, a dual-layer DVD, 802.11b/g, four USB 2.0 connectors and other basics like S-video or Firewire and Ethernet.

As you can read on your own, not all the stores will be able to match the deal, but those that can will offer it to the first 10 buyers. The regular price for this one is $600 but after rebates you get it for $299.99 in New York or California. Other places it could be $349, according to FatWallet.
