With all the fuss about the iPhone and the new iPods where everything comes in hundreds of Gigabytes, Toshiba just launched their neweste 1.8-inch hard drive with a storage capacity of 160GB that is designed for CE devices, called Toshiba MK1626GCB.
This is actually the 1.8-inch hard drive with the highest density on the market that comes with an improved read-write speed - 52MBps at 3600 rpm - thanks to those 2 platters and 4 heads, and a better magnetic layer. The new drive has a CE-ATA interface, weights only 59grams and is really a low power consumer. No word about the price or any actual release date, but we'll get them soon.
