Why is it that Sony has become so aggressive in the laptops market? I don't know but I really appreciate it, because I just love Vaios. Last week I told you who's the nicesest addition in Sony's Vaio lineup, Vaio BX51, so I guess it's another week and a new launch.

 

Sony Vaio AR600, the 17-inch series, are supposed to run on Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 and T7500 processors, 1.3 megapixel camera, 1440 x 900 or 1920 x 1200 resolutions, 8400M GT Nvidiia graphics card, and is bundled with Vista Home or Ultimate. If you don't like Vista and you're lucky to get an ultimate version, you should know Microsoft already has the downgrade kit prepared. Put XP professional on it, don't worry.

Now to get back on laptops, Vaio AR630E has a Blu-ray drive, AR660U has a CableCard and AR690U both. Did I mention that all the laptops in the new Vaio AR600 series have 160GB-SATA hard drives and HDMI out. About prices, I am not sure if they are the real ones but here's what we know to be sold for, from October 2nd : $1700, $2400 and $3300.
