One Laptop For Child program will use Intel processors

By now you should have heard about the One Laptop Per Child program that everyone has been talking about - the $100 notebook that will help children in the developing countries. Actually the $100 laptop costs $175 and so far it used slow AMD processors that had low power consumption.

olpc-green.jpgHowever, representatives from Intel and OLPC announced that a new chipset and a processor are in the making and that Intel engineers have been tipped with what should be inside. Intel will be building something on architectures they already have, such as Celeron M or Silverthorne, which will be inserted as a test on a few OLPC notebooks. I wonder if they can make it really $100 this time.
