1080p 3LCD projectors have already been launched by Mitsubishi and Sanyo, reason for Epson to go for it. They've launched the new EMP-TW2000 with an incredible 50,000:1 contrast rate, that uses 0.74-inch HTPS panels technology and goes to 1920 x 1080 on the 12-bit LCD driver with OptiFocus engine.
Now to tell you what you can use it at, the new Epson EMP-TW2000 supports x.v.Color, has two HDMI inputs (v1.3), S-video, D-Sub and a 24p input. The brightness increased by 30% and it reaches 1600 lumens thanks to the 170W UHE bulb. The dimensions are 406×310×124mm and it weights approximately 5.6kg. The price is going to be around $3000 when it gets in the States because so far is only available in Japan.
