AMD has made it official and they will be launching their three core (tri-core) processor chips which are actually quad core with one core fused, and they decided to do it just because they can do it before Intel.
With a low end market working on duo-core processors and high end on quad-core, it looks like AMD found some space for the mid-range market. When the tri-core will be released AMD will have a full 1-4 core range of processors and will be able to serve all kind of purses. The last thing I can think of is the price, because it will range between duo-core and quad-core, will have speed boosts but as I mentioned it's a quad-core with one fused, so what will be the production price? Will AMD be profitable on three-core processors? We'll see!
