
In July Western Digital announced a new line of GreenPower (TM) hard drives. The drives will be shipped in capacities from 320 GB to 1TB and are expected to save up to 40% in power consumption or $10 a year per drive. ![]()
Western Digital claims that typical 1TB drives have power consumption of 13.5 watts but their WD GreenPower will reduce the consumption by 5 watts.
