This is what a real company does when they realize their product has some small deficiencies. Sony is recalling 416,000 Cyber-Shot DSC-T5 digital still cameras, to replace the metal plating on the bottom casing, because it may warp and might result in cuts or scratches for the user.
If you own such a camera and the serial number is between 3010001 - 3081200 you may want to send it back to Sony and get it back fixed, without paying any extra fees. Ryoko Takagi, of Sony, said that it will affect models sold in the United States, Europe, China and Japan.
First identified just after launch in September 2005 by several Japanese customers, it looks like Sony actioned (it's never too late) and they are taking the DSC-T5 models back for upgrades.
