Panasonic's HDC-SD7 is claiming to be the world's smallest digital hi-def recorder. Measuring a mere 52 mm x 110 mm x 87 mm and weighing 290 grams, the secret of its small size is the SD memory card as a recording medium.
Featuring three CCD (Charge coupled device) sensors behind a 10x zoom lens and a 2.7" LCD monitor. With the ability to record full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) video at different levels of quality. The 4GB SD card can hold up to 60 minutes of video. The unit will be available in black and silver.
Available only in Japan starting in September, 2007 at a cost of $1,175.
