I am already considering Nikon the best digital cameras for professionals it looks like the guys over there read my mind and sent official announcements about their newest Digital SLR (DSLR) models, Nikon D3 and Nikon D300.
Nikon D3 is the flagship of the two, and is the next of the D1 that changed completely the digital world of photography. It has a 12.1 megapixel sensor (full-frame 23.9 x 36mm) and in normal conditions will give excelent low-noise ISO 200 to 6400 pictures. However the camera can be set to Lo-1 or Hi-2 that can take you from 100 to ISO 25,600. How would a sports photographer feel right now? The new Nikon D3 has a 3-inch VGA LCD, two spots for CompactFlash cards, HDMI output (with cable) and a new EXPEED image processor, 9fps using full frame or 11fps with DX crop and 51 point autofocus (3D focus tracking). This beauty is going to release in November for $5000.
Now about the new Nikon D300, which also brings excelent quality but at a lower cost, here it is. It features the same 51-point auto focus system with Nikon’s 3D Focus Tracking, a very goos scene recognition, a 12.3 megapixel DX sensor and very fast shutter (45ms). Nikon D300 is an excelent camera for those that can afford $1800.
Both cameras will be available from November 2007 so I am waiting for the first reviews. For more information read the press releases (D3 and D300).
