Netgear launched a wireless phone with the ability to call or being called, free and without the need of a PC, over Skype any time you have WiFi networks access in the area. Netgear SPH200W is the name and it has 802.11b/g compatibility, a built-in speaker phone, manages up to 500 contacts and can save network profiles for better access.
The battery life of the new Netgear SPH200W is about 4 hours when talking and 48 hours when in standby. If you are familiar with WiFi security, then you should know it supports WEP, WPA and WPA2.
Comments on Engadget were saying that a Netgear WiFi phone with Skype and an iPhone design would sell well, but how about an iPhone with Skype? Too bad AT&T is afraid of it. No news on the pricing and when it should come on the market but I won't bet for anything high.

I recently bought this SPH200W and it works in my house. At work or in my friends homes it gives a different provider from my house and asks for ssd or something like that. How do configure the phone work in the office of friends homes. Please respond to my Email, thanks.
