For those that haven't decided yet on a Blu-Ray player or a HD DVD player Buffalo did. Connect it via USB 2.0, play your favorite disks in the format you like and you can also burn BD-RE and BD-R discs. Thanks to the TurboUSB function (in the top level model) the effective transfer rate is very good so that you can view crystal clear images. The bad thing is it can't burn HD-DVDs but can do normal CDs and DVDs.
Buffalo BHC-6316U2 is using the GGC-H20N optical drive which reads both formats and has “CyberLink PowerDVD7.3 Ultra” for blue ray disk and the playback of HD DVD. The price in Japan, where it will be released late August, is ¥51,000 ($440) and the top model Buffalo BRHC-6316U2 is priced at ¥74,800 ($644).
