Zonbu eliminates most of a computer's power consuming hardware. It uses a Linux-based operating system, and its suite of commonly used applications such as web-browsing and word processing is contained on a four-gigabyte CompactFlash card similar to those used in digital cameras. User data is stored on leased servers and owners pay a monthly subscription fee based on the amount of storage they rent, up to 100 gigabytes. The fact that Zonbu has central data storage gives users the ability to travel with the unit and access their personal data from anywhere that has a high-speed Internet connection. It also boasts 6 USB ports to allow plug and play of standard UBS accessories and PC compatible ports for keyboard and mouse.
The unit itself is compact, about the same size as a wireless modem, and virtually silent as it has no fan or disk drive. Zonbu even offers you the possibility to "dress" up your unit with skins.
