EOS-1D Mark III is the high-end digital SLR camera from Canon, which is mainly used by professional photographers. Ten days ago, Canon announced that a new firmware update for the EOS-1D Mark III will be available by the end of July. It looks like they kept their word and released a firmware update, version 1.1.0, available for download (you need your camera serial number to download).
The new EOS-1D Mark III version 1.1.0 features:
- Images look better on your LCD monitor thanks to a stronger sharpness setting.
- Reduces the tendency to autofocus on the high-contrast background when it uses AI Servo AF in certain situations like when the main subject's contrast is lower than the background. It also improves the consistency of autofocus in some other situation.
- Fixes a problem with the Main Dial response error.
- Rare problem. Camera wasn't starting normally in some situations, after inserting the batteries. That's now fixed.
- Italian and Simplified Chinese menus had errors which are now fixed.
Canon EOS-1D Mark III firmare update 1.1.0 has a file size of 9.88MB and you should do it if you own a professional camera like that one, because you need to get the most out of the $5000 you paid for it.
