It's been some time now with all these rumors on the market that Google is working on creating their own mobile phone. Partnerships with LG or their own piece of hardware it looks like none of these will materialize in a GooglePhone.
There are reasons however why Google won't pursue this road and that is that engineers and shareholders are interested in the online business and not with manufacturing gadgets. However Google pushed the limits with convincing mobile phone makers to include all kinds of G-applications. So why make your own phone if you can have your software available on other's? If you think that we can already access Google on our mobile phones as we speak, it's just a matter of free will, and that is where Google should invest, in convincing people.
Another reason is they are investing very much on developing prototypes. They do get to show ads and maps and whatever you may think of, and in return they offer support to developing newer and newer devices. They never manufactured PCs so my guess is they will never manufacture cell phones, either.
What do you think?
