Good news from Toshiba that just launched the first 320GB, 5400 rpm SATA based, laptop hard drive, in the world, at only 2.5-inch. Toshiba's Storage Device Division have done a great job this time, offering high storage capacity for our notebooks, which supports 3-Gbit/s SATA interface for their 5400 rpm MK-GSX series and the top level 7200 rpm MK-GSY series.
Another nice thing about the new 320GB hard drives for notebooks from Toshiba is that they've implemented a sensor to auto-park your read/write head if it falls over 10-inches.
The main debate, is now: will other notebook manufacturers use them, or just Toshiba? Production will start by the end of the year.
