I remember back in gradeschool our teacher required us to create a makeshift horseblinder made out of two folders stapled together. We used this during our tests so that no one will be "tempted" to cheat. In a similar way, CoverUp is the new "cheatproof" rendition of my foolproof gradeschool folder solution.
Unlike a screensaver that locks the entire desktop, CoverUp lets you lock and cover specific applications to prevent other users from looking at them while you're away, but still enables everyone else to use the system.
What it basically does is create a partial screensaver on an important document so that no one will be "tempted" to see what you're working on. Hehe.
