Wow, this is above the bar against consumer digital cams. A 7x optical zoom webcam (no pricing yet) stands like a telescope above your monitor. Though we do not know why you would need 7x of zoom for Skype video calls, the ability can still be used in creative ways to show off your pimples to your derma on the other side of the conference call.
The DC-NCP130 is at heart a USB CMOS cam with 1280 x 1024 resolution at 15 fps. However, strap the 7x optical zoom and you have a serious tool for spying on the hottie across the street…ummm…I mean protecting your assets from nefarious thieves.
