
Sony says that components and parts for their top notch gaming system is a little hard to acquire and that the hefty price tag of $600 will psychologically appeal to those who actually do end up getting one. Nintendo on the other hand would rather release the Wii worldwide as fast as possible to as many families as there are television sets.
So on one hand, you have family-friendly Nintendo that makes cheaper but "more engaging" consoles and on the other side of the table, you have Sony, bent on its elitist appeal to release expensive consoles with top notch graphics. Two business models at work, but which e will be more successful?

Based on recent online poll, Wii is leading the pack, leaving xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for 2nd and 3rd. Apparently, people enjoy the wii unique controllers and reasonable price as opposed to Xbox 360 and PS3 High-Definition features of the other 2.
