The problem is really putting up a series of computer algorithms against one human who can easily tell what type of information you need. It is the martin Luther King example over again - computer algorithms will show you a list of uncredible but high ranked sources but a librarian will give you objective and factual information.
For business use, the library is still a good place to go to for research - all you need to do is call and you'll be surprised to find more tech savvy people behind the desk. But yes they still tell you to be quiet!
