 As I'm typing this, the whirring sound of my computer fan distracts me - overpowering the electric fan beside my chair. I'm currently using a Thermaltake Volcano 6 for my Athlon which is one of the loudest fans ever made. My PC is so loud, I wish I could make it more quiet. Luckily I found this article from ExtremeTech that details how you can shush your CPU fan, gag your optical drive and silence your HD.
