Okay, here's the simplest way to explain this. So the
Ambient Clock's function is pretty obvious - it tells time. The background actually changes color depending on how loaded your schedule is. Blue for nothing, orange for "your appointment is in 10 minutes" and red for "damn you're so *%$$ late!!!"

The clock also displays small doodads on the LCD panel - such as the time it will take for you to drive from one location to another, the time your 12-hour day begins and ends, and how long your meetings will take.
This type of clock is useful for visual learners (like me) who really have an easier time "seeing" their appointments represented in a pie chart of the 24 hour day. Read more about it
