NEC launched four new System On Glass (SOG) LCD modules which are of the 3.5” and 2.7” Transmissive type and 3.5” and 2.7” Transflective type. They are suitable for PDAs, Portable GPS use. By reducing the instrumentation parts by integration of
peripheral circuitry on the glass substrate of the TFT LCD, the new SOG LCD has a less cost factor on it. It also has functions for displaying 16.19 million colors by a built-in step interpolation circuit, boasts a switching VGA/QVGA display, and equipped with a touch panel.
