How to know if your product is s great
Here's something I learned from Scott Adams. He says that factually, 9/10 business fail. A lot of us have held this to be true - and we tend to concentrate on that 1/10 ... the ten percent, that one idea that will surely make us millions of dollars.

But how do you know that million dollar idea will click? According to Mr. Dilbert himself ...

If everyone exposed to a product likes it, the product will not succeed. (...) The reason that a product “everyone likes” will fail is because no one “loves” it. The only thing that predicts success is passion, even if only 10% of the consumers have it. For example, I’m willing to bet that when the TV show Baywatch was tested, 90% of the people rolled their eyes and gave it a thumbs down. But I’ll bet 10% of the test audience had tents in their pants. Bingo.

This is  very much in line with how markets perceive good products to be niche products. You aren't a dollar bill. You don't have to please everybody - just  the homeless.
