Wow. Now that's cheap. It may actually come as no surprise to find a portable computer this cheap but behin every cheap price is a huge comprimise in rusty bells and whistles. However, when PC Magazine reviewed the Gateway MX3230, it found the golden mean between price and quality.

The unit is sized at a 15.4 wide screen with integrated 802.11a/g connectivity, DVD ROM and 512MB of RAM. The catch is that the stock processor is only a Celeron, which explains why this notebook is dirt cheap. But it's all good you know. For the price, you get a notebook that does the basics quite well.
