First is the "ambivalent crowd" percentile. Funny as it sounds, you have to ask yourself how much ambient noise you are willing to take:

What type of music does the restaurant or coffee shop have? Is it too loud to not be able to concentrate? Do you have a good relationship with the manager to such a point where you could ask the establishment to lower the volume?

What about the crowd? Are you comfortable being around a spot that also becomes a hangout for the rowdy "twenteen" crowd? Will it distract you in your work?
