
Businesses should take note that SMS spam can be more dangerous than email, especially when spammers make use of big companies to promote scams.
Two months ago, the NTC scrapped plans to blacklist content providers and operators found spamming mobile phone subscribers.
Instead, the agency reverted to its original policy that puts the burden back to subscribers who should "opt-in" or agree to receive commercial and promotional advertisements via SMS.
Subscribers who do not reply to promotional text messages will automatically be "opted out" from receiving further messages. (source)
