It might be a bit expensive at just $299.99, but don't be put off by the high price. Planon has gone back to the drawing board by improving on the RC800's predecessor, the R700. Problems like failed scans and awkward portability issues has been removed, and the RC800 is now available in a svelte 8.9" x 0.5" frame. Its weight of 2 ounces doesn't hurt its reputation either. You are able to scan in black-and-white or in color (12-bit and 24-bit), with resolutions ranging from 100 to 400 dots per inch. Two buttons located at the top allows you to switch the settings according to your preference as well as going through the color modes. The DocuPen RC800 is definitely a great tool for the office and with students alike.

 

Pros : Portable, lightweight, scans in color and black-and-white

Cons : Cannot scan huge documents, looks fragile
