Hewlett Packard's computer in a rice grain
Now here's another cool chip from HP. Sometime in the next few years, HP plans to23rfid_hp.JPG introduce the market with the next incarnation of RFID called the Memory Spot. About the size of your average nail paring but definitely more powerful, the Memory Spot holds megabytes of data, and can be interacted wirelessly. The excellent example they give is a Medicalert style bracelet which contains a complete history of your medical background plus allergy warnings, or a prescription bottle which confirms that the drug is indeed solely for you. Unlike RFIDs, the scan range on Memory Spots is less than a centimetre.
