BenQ has developed its new optical writer that caters for the next-generation Blu-ray media, the BW1000 Trio Writer. The BW1000 comes with three different lasers in order to read the current laser disc, an infrared laser, and the new Blu-ray format. The BW1000's capabilities do not stop there as it is equipped with the Precision Tilt Control System (PTCS) that offers a new dimension of protection against any vibrations, noisy signals, and irregularities found on the physical media that sidesteps issues like playback hiccups and failed burns with ease. SolidBurn and Write Right technologies are able to determine and optimize the writing settings prior to burning in order to ensure a reliable read and write session, prolonging the lifespan of all three heads. Separate LED indicators enables users to identify which media is being read currently at a glance. The BW1000 will be released at the end of August at a recommended retail price of £549.
Pros : All-in-one solution, Blu-ray ready
Cons : Too many reading heads could lead to sensitivity issues
