This fingerprint scanner using an amazing 800dpi in it's 15 millimeter wide sensor. After my first encounter with a fingerprint reader last week, I was able to crack it within about 3 minutes with a piece of tape and the owner's finger (still attached to his body).
This one sounds like it will be different, if and when it hits US soil. The PU700-20 (why all the letters and numbers?) definitely stands out with the fact that it attaches to a usb port, and I assume you can detach it and take it with you, which would seem to be secure.
Either way, I know I don't have anything that anyone wants on my MacBook Pro, so I won't be spending $250 on this fingerprint reader.
