Dell has unveiled the Wireless 5700 Mobile Broadband ExpressCard, making it available to all and sundry before the week is over on Dell's website. This card is not built from ground up, but Dell has just taken the Novatel XV620 ExpressCard and slapped the Dell brand over it. The XV620 is a decent performer, so there shouldn't be any worry about performance issues should you purchase one. ExpressCards are next-generation technology that offer superior transfer speeds in a more portable format. Dell is offering the 5700 for $179, and it comes along with a free one month subscription to Verizon Wireless's EV-DO data plan. At the end of that month, you have the option to convert to a full Verizon Wireless plan at $59.99 a month if you have an existing Verizon Wireless voice plan. If you don't, the said package will be more expensive at $79.99. As far as we know, the 5700 ExpressCard is compatible with Windows only.
Pros : Faster 3G connection for mobile Internet
Cons : Not compatible with older notebooks
